what happens if live and neutral can be reversed.?
We have some machinery ( small single phase lathe ) out in Hungary.
The power supply lead is not polarised i.e. the live and neutral can be reversed.
Because the machines are not double-insulated who is at fault if the live becomes in contact with the chassis?
The matter of who is at fault is irrelevant if someone has died. Use a polarized plug or hardwire the machine to a disconnect where the polarity cannot be reversed.
