how do you clean a one way bearing for an rc car?
i was told that since the pullstart wasnt cranking the motor, i needed to clean the one way bearing, how do i do that?
do i just spray it with carb. spray or do i take it apart and then spray it?
The best way to clean it out is to take it apart and spray it down with some kind of degreaser and lightly oil it with some bearing oil. That way you can also inspect the bearing to make sure the cage isn't broken. Carb cleaner will work well, and it contains oils so you don't need to re-lube the bearing. Once you have it all apart, drill a small hole on the pull starter case somewhere you can reach with the straw on the can of cleaner. That way you can flush it out any time you need to with out needing to take it apart again
