How long should the drill bit be if I am going to cover the drilled holes with 2 inch screws afterwards?
I am also going to use a 3/8" inch drill. So I'm not sure how much of the drill bit will be placed inside the drill? Should the drill bit length be between 2.5-3" inches long? Would this do the job?
most drill bits are this long anyway, just drill in as far as the screw length, also make allowances for the rawl plug, or as our American friends call them,mollies.
If your not sure, then pull the drill out and you will see how much it has gone in, then just place your screw up against the drill bit, this will tell you whether you need to make it deeper.
