If a single flute can play at 78 dB, how many more need to play to increase level to 84 dB?
Can anyone show me how to solve?
If a single flute can play at 78 dB, how many more need to play to increase level to 84 dB?
db reading=10log(I/10^-12)
i=intensity of sound
so let no. Of flutes be x & intensity of one flute i
10log(xI/10^-12)=84
74+10logx=84
10logx=6
x=10^0.6
Cheap Shipping Boxes - Pertinent Information on Boxes For Shipping
Business and commercial enterprises spend a fortune on shipping goods across the town or across the country. One way of saving money is by opting for cheap boxes, which are strong and functional. Cheap shipping boxes of different capacities and materials are plentiful in the market. Steel containers also called freight containers, are used for moving goods between countries and wooden containers or crates, for transporting heavy, awkwardly shaped goods. But when we speak of cheap shipping boxes, what comes to mind are the cardboard boxes. Here is a guide to cheap shipping boxes which will help you choose one that is right for you.
The base material for the manufacture of paper boxes or cartons is paperboard, which is similar in shape and composition to paper, but generally thicker than paper perhaps with a grammage of over 600 g/m² and is made from plant fiber, rags or wood. The usage of paperboard is not restricted to the manufacture of boxes alone. It is used in coasters, insulators and advertising display. Layers of paper pasted together or pressing layers of wet paper pulp together makes pasteboard.
Cheap shipping boxes and cartons are generally made using different types of card stock, paperboard and pasteboard. A heavy-duty paper based box goes by the generic name of cardboard box. Shipping boxes are generally made of corrugated fiberboard and may be referred to as corrugated cardboard or plain cardboard or made of paperboard which also goes by the name of solidboard or posterboard.
Corrugated cardboard boxes are stronger and more durable than flat paperboard boxes, the difference being the presence of a wavy paperboard layer called a fluted or arched paper, between two flat paperboards known as linerboards in the corrugated boxes. The fluted layer is glued between two linerboards. Sometimes glue and large stapler pins are used in combination, for greater strength. A box fashioned in this way is the single wall cardboard box. A double walled box has three linerboards and two fluted papers and there is a yet another, triple walled box with four linerboards and three fluted layers for maximum strength. The box manufacturer’s certificate (BMC) printed on the bottom flap indicates the size, thickness of the cardboard and the weight it can carry. This is indicated by the ECT, the edge crush test measured in lbs per square inch or the mullen test which measures resistance to rupture in pounds per square inch.
Besides the C-flute corrugates, which are the most commonly used shipping boxes, also available are the white corrugated mailers and boxes, cube boxes, heavy duty single walled and double walled corrugated boxes, cargo containers and wardrobe boxes. These corrugated shipping boxes are usually available in bundles of 25 and multiples thereof.
Corrugated packaging offers a host of advantages unmatched by any other packing medium. Being collapsible and lightweight, they are easy to store and can be stacked up to heights of 30 ft, saving valuable floor space. The structural rigidity combined with the cushioning provided by the flute paper makes it a versatile packing medium. Printing product description, company logos and other required specifications on the corrugated boxes is easy. Old corrugated containers or OCC as the recyclers call the used corrugated boxes, is the most recycled, eco-friendly product.
